  • For those following along.  I did receive two files.  Initially neither could be opened in Project 2013.  I was able to open one in project 2010 and received an error message on open regarding circular references.  Once opened and saved in Project 2010 - I was able to open in Project 2013.  However, one file was not recoverable.

  • Is this file also created in Project 2013? Are you working in Project Server mode?

  • >Try putting calculation OFF and check if plan opens.

    >  If above doesn't help, Open a new project. try to insert this project and check if it opens. If it opens, remove the link between project and you will have this as independent plan.

  • Are you attempting to open the file through Explorer or by first launching Microsoft Project and then opening the file?

  • Whats the size of the file? Curious to check whether the file has been corrupted and has lost crucial information.

  • 276 kb certainly does not look like a bloated or corrupt file.  I'm afraid the file may not be recoverable and you'll need to resort to back up.  If the file can be shared, I'd be happy to see if I can open it on my pc.  Let me know and I'll supply my email address (briefly).
