Time intelligence filter RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello guy,

I am currently using the Time intelligence filter to aggregate value on a scorecard which works fine. What I need is a clarification with regards the reference date in the configuration settings, is it  a dynamically date or it remains the same after the specified time value has passed?

  • I assume by configuration settings you mean "Time" tab under data source canvas. If yes, then specified date is just a reference date used to map Time Intelligence in dashboard with correct Time Dimension in your data source.

If you are looking to utilize various Time Intelligence formulas like Day, MTD etc. you have to map the correct date. And it is only a one time thing.

  • Ok Umair,

So what you are saying is that if the reference is date is 9/7/2011(which is Septemper 9th, 2011) and I create a formular using Month( to get the current month) if the current changes to October(next month) those the formular Month automatically reflect October?

    Thank you

  • True. You should get the values likewise for Month, Day or any other TI formulas.
