Mail enabled public folder not showing read status after reading RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have mail enabled Public Folders and when a user is reading an item, this item is not showing as unread.
The users also can't marked them as unread thenselve.

We are running Exchange Server 2007 SP2 wit Update rollup 5 (kb2407132) on Windows Server 2008 SP2.
Tests with Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2010 are the same.

    Does anyone has an solution?

    Thanks
    Marcel

Is the "Maintain per-user read and unread . . ." box checked on the
    folder's property page?

  • Hi Marcel,

    Any updates?

    Please also check the KB:

Description of the "Maintain per-user read and unread information" setting in Exchange Server 2003

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929396/en-us

The KB is also applies to Exchange 2007.

  • Marcel,

I think i have the same scenario as you, one mailbox server, and the issue does not affect OWA.

However any outlook 2003/2010 user has the same problem.

The workaround i found was to categorize the email and this marks it as read.
