ATA Gateway server on Domian Controllers RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a large enterprise environment consisting of multiple forests and hundreds of domain controllers across the global. These domain controllers are located on hundreds of network segments. Under normal circumstances I am not a fan of agents on my DC, however I am concerned that getting Port Mirroring configured for such a large enterprise will be a nightmare and take extensive time to implement when having to coordinate with networking team who have their own priorities. I would like to know if there is an agent that can be installed on DC to send traffic to ATA center, or if I can install Gateway on each and every DC. If so, what would be the way to configure this and would there be any minimum requirements such as multiple NICs on the DC to transmit communication of data between DC and ATA center across secondary NIC as to not overload the primary NIC servicing DC traffic. Also, what would the performance impact be on a DC if this was a supported configuration.
