Selective windows update install

Question
-
Hi,
Is there a way on Windows Server 2016 to install only selected updates?
Consider the following:
There are three updates pending
- Windows Server Cumulative Update
- Windows Defender Definitions Update
- A specific product update (SharePoint Server, Office Online Server etc.)I'd like to skip the last one, because it requires manual post-setup steps (running psconfig for SharePoint and rebuilding the farm for OOS). On previous versions I could tick off a checkbox next to updates I wanted to leave for later and go on with OS updates as soon as possible. Now I have to defer them all until I'm ready with the specific product update. Is there a way to do the same in Server 2016 other than blocking the specific product updates on WSUS and in result not updating them ever?

The diagcab package is what I needed to be available out of the box in the system. Thanks for showing that. For others here's a support article that describes the diagcab package: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3183922/how-to-temporarily-prevent-a-windows-update-from-reinstalling-in-windoWednesday, January 31, 2018 7:27 AM
