Mapping custom fields from Sharepoint to Project Professional and Visa Versa RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

    I hope someone can help

I have a custom field in a sharepoint task list. I have been trying to find a way to map this field with the underlying MS project plan so I can use the information in a report. However, I cannot find a way to map custom fields between sharepoint or project no matter which software I create the field in

Does anyone know if this is possible?

    Thanks

    Matt

  • Hi Paul

Thanks for getting back to me.

I already use MSP Online, however I have a couple of sharepoint task lists set up so team members without MSP can  update non project plans.

If they cannot be synced I will have to create a calculated field in both formats so the team can see it via sharepoint and it can be pulled into my BI report through project

    Thanks

  • Hi Matt,

This is a Microsoft sync process that can't be updated / edited. I think you would have to build your own sync process / function in MS Project. Have you considered Project Online?
