No DHCP manager available? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guys,

Got my win7 and win8 desktop certifications so now diving into server's! I've worked on servers a lot but not had much involvement with setting them up from scratch.

Have a vm setup which is my main DC call DC-01 , I've installed the active directory domain services, dns and dhcp roles on the server.

ADDS runs and works fine, dns appears to be working fine also. However when I go to DHCP on left hand side, then right click my server it does not give me the option to manage DHCP nor does it give this option within metro menu.

    Link below is for screenshot

There is an error which states

"The DHCP service failed to see a directory server for authorization."

Not sure if this has anything to do with it?

These are hosted via Hyper -V and run on an external switch.

    Any help greatly appreciated

    thanks
