Adding DP's RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a small environment, 1 CM2012 server and we'll end up having 7 DP's in remote sites serving less than 2,000 machines.   Our CM2012 server is a Windows 2012 server and it is running SQL 2012.    We have 7 Windows 2008 servers that will be our DPs.    I've added all 7 machine accounts to the Local Administrators group on the CM2012 server.   What else do I need to do?  Do they need to be added to any SQL security groups?

  • You need to add the site server to the local admin on the DP's not the other way round. Nothing needed for SQL.

DP pre-reqs are all listed here

  • The primary site server account will also need to be an admin and SA on the SQL server if hosted separately. And as Paul stated, the DP server accounts do not need to be admins on the primary site server, each other, or the DB server.
