I forgot my Family Safety password.

Question

I set up Family Safety on my daughter's laptop, and I have forgotten the password. I did not write it down, and I've no clue to what it is. I can't find how to reset her laptop, either, and I cannot turn off Family Safety since her account is not an admin, is there any I can turn off the Family Safety and remove my account on her laptop, without being an admin?Monday, October 13, 2014 1:01 AM

So you mean the account is the only admin account? In this case you can use a password reset disk to reset the password. Assuming that you have one at hand you can follow the steps below to solve the problem:
Step 1: Insert the password reset disk into the locked computer.
Step 2: At the Welcome screen, click the link "Reset password".
Step 3: When the "Password Reset Wizard" appears, click "Next".
Step 4: Select the drive where the password reset disk is located.
Step 5: Type in your new password and password hint then click "Next".
If you don't have one please turn to a third-party tool for help. I recommend Windows Password Recovery Tool to you. You can find it on CNET.
