Cannot connect to the database you specified. Installation Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Working in a test environment. Plan is to have SQL Server 2012 SP2 Enterprise Edition and App-V 5.1 Server (Management and Publishing) everything on one Windows Server 2012 R2 server. During the installation of App-V, I get this error

" Cannot connect to the database you specified. Please make sure that it exists, the database server is running, and you have the necessary access rights"

I have checked and all the SQL services are running. I do not think that this error is permissions related as everything is installed on one box using the same domain admin I. Restarted 100 times.

I also do not see any error in the event logs. Windows Firewall is off. I have used ODBC Data Source to test the SQL connection and this test completes successfully

Any ideas what can be wrong

  • I re-built my test environment and this time did not see this error.

Thanks Ryan for your response. I saw that blog post before but did not find any thing that could solve me problem.
