Visit HP support website and search for your printer and under drivers , select Windows 8 as your operating system and then download the compatible version of this software for Windows 8 and if problem persist, contact their support:

How do I un-vote for an answer? There doesn't seem to be a way to mark that it doesn't answer the question.
I've been through all the typical nonsense pass-the-buck answers for 2 years now, and they seem to be getting worse instead of better. I have a generic scanner driver that seemed to work OK, but it now has stopped. Don't know why you even mention "Windows 8" since this is a Win10 problem. HP has no solutions, so I don't even bother with them; a waste of time. The driver that was working wasn't theirs, so what changed? This is the problem with Windows, it only seems to get worse with every new up-date and version. If it ain't broken, don't fix it!
