What is Purpose of "Additional Lock Information" RRS feed

    In WSS 3.0, I am curious if anyone knows what the purpose of the "Additional lock information" field is on the Site Collection Quotas and Locks page.  I am aware that you must put a value here, if the lock status is being set to anything except Not Locked.  I am wondering if this value actually serves any purpose beyond the obvious - if another admin goes to unlock the site collection, they would see it on that screen.

    You are required to type a reason for the lock in the Additional lock information box

    So that apart from you, if any other admin join the firm. he should not the reason for the lock
