PowerShell ISE - Where are the default snippets after Win10 Upgrade?

    Question

  • FIXED:

    Fixed in KB4100403 version 1803 build 17134.81

    Powershell_ise.exe upgraded to 10.0.17134.81

    ----

Edit2: Temporary workaround is to temporary install PowerShellISE-preview as a local user, and run isep.

    Install-Module PowerShellISE-preview -Scope CurrentUser
    isep

So I've upgraded to Win10Pro 1803 17134.1, opened my trusty PowerShell ISE, pressed CTRL+J and nothing happens!? Even the Get-ISESnippet is not showing any results. I'm using the default snippets and don't have any custom snippets under my documents / PowerShell folder.

It seems to be related to OneDrive or Windows 10 update as both my Desktop and Laptop have the same problem.

I hope someone knows a solution for this problem.

    Best Regards,
    Glenn

  • I can confirm this, have the same issue in ISE after 1803 update. Snippets (CTRL+J) not working, and Intellisense for Cmdlet parameters is also not working.

  • I retract my earlier statement. I tried it on a system that I hadn't rebooted.  When trying on other 1809 systems I get the same failure.
