Can't open Approval Center "An unknown error has occurred." PWA 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am a Project Server 2010 administrator and I'm getting this big problem:

A user in my organization is getting an "An unknown error has occurred" message when trying to open “Approval Center”.

This only happens to one user that has 430 pending approvals (and only happens in the Approval Center”, all the other stuff works fine).  The error shows 3 minutes after clicking “Approval Center”.

The user has all needed permissions. This didn't happened when the user had few pending approvals, so I beulive it’s not permissions problem. Is this related to the large number of pending approvals?

The system logs didn’t help me find what the problem is. Any ideas how to solve this problem please?

  • Hi Mario JMH,

yes, i think that the problem is related to the large number of pending approvals.

Maybe it's a trivial question: if you delete teporary internet files from your browser cache, can help you?

Anyway, can you check in ULS log if there's a detailed error trace in files? This can be a timeout error.

    Best Regards

  • Thanks for the reply Paolo,

But I still get the "An unknown error has occurred" message after delete the teporary internet files from your browser cache.

In the ULS log I have this:

Could that be related to the error message?

If it's a timeout error how can I fix it?
