  • Hi Frank,

Why did you install that package for your system? Did you encounter the issue in the article below?

Internet Explorer 11 crashes when you turn on or turn off Enterprise Mode in the Tools menu

    If no, please uninstall it.

If yes, check the following settings:

    1. Press WIN+R to open the Run window, type SystemPropertiesAdvanced and press Enter.

    2. Click the environment variables... button.

    3. Find the path variable and check if c:\windows\system32 (or %SystemRoot%\system32) is present between all the paths.
If not, add it at the end of the entire string (preceded by a semi colon) and click Always ok.

    4. Check if you have got IERTUTIL.DLL in c:\windows\system32.

  • We do want to use Enterprise Mode and that is the reason we were deploying that patch to our workstations. We deployed 2929437 and 2956283 in order to get Enterprise Mode on our machines. As we started moving those out we started to see the issues I mentioned above and had to pull 2956283 from our deployments, which will now mean we can't use Enterprise Mode as we had hoped. If that is the case, we may not be upgrading users to IE11. Only users who were testing IE11 experienced this issue. I have verified a few of the users machines and they contain %systemroot%\system32 in their path variable. The IERTUTIL.DLL file is in their system32 directory and in their syswow64 directory.

  • Any update from anyone on this?  We are holding off our implementation of Enterprise Mode, and possibly our upgrade to IE11, until we can find a resolution to this.
