Force SharePoint through Direct Access RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

Is it possible for use "Force Tunneling" for a particular website only. i.e. when our DA Clients attempt to access to SharePoint they are doing so through it's External IP rather than internally.

If so is it possible to link me to some step by steps.

    Many thanks

  • You don't mention what kind of DA you are using UAG or Win2012?

Anyways, what you need to do is basically the same but the steps are slightly different. You need to modify the Name Resolution Policy Table (NRPT). In Win2012 this is done in Remote Access Management / Configuration / DNS.

Adding a server into that table without specifying the DNS will force the client to use its external DNS and resolve the name there. This under the assumption that:

    - the name for the Sharepoint is in the internal namespace (e.g. sps.internaldomain.tld)

    - you want the client to access it externally
