assign two resources to one task, one (resource) consequentially to another RRS feed

  • is it possible to assign a resource to a task and complete an half with it, and complete the second half with another resource?

  • There are many ways to do this.

    1. Consider making 2 tasks each with a single resource.  This is much simpler to manage.

    2a. Create a task with Duration = 1/2 x the intended duration.  Using default type (Fixed Units) is ok.

    2b. Assign the two resources at 100%.  This sets the work for the two resources.

    2c. With either the Resource Usage or Task Usage view on the bottom pane, insert a column for "Assignment Delay."  Then enter an assignment delay value (equal to the current 1/2 duration) for the second resource. Done.
