Question re-install COM Port under Vista RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everybody,

i don't know where to post this kind of problem, but it's related with Vista...

    I de-installed the COM-Port for test-reasons.

I restarted my computer and vista detects a new hardware.
But he don't find any driver for it, neither on the vista DVD or Mainboard CD.

How can i reinstall the generic COM Port?
The hardware setup needs a .inf File.

    Big thanks for help

    Greetings

    Hi,

You can refer to the following steps to remove com port on Windows Vista.

Open a CMD window, and run the following command:

    Set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1

Then, please selecting “Show Hidden Devices” from the Device Manager. Remove any com port you want.

In addition, you can refer to the following thread:

    Hope it helps.
