Error during installation Exch 2010 SP1 in Organization Preparation RRS feed

  • When installing exchange 2010 sp1 on a windows 2008 R2 server is get the following error:

    Organization Preparation
    Failed

    Error:
    The following error was generated when "$error.Clear();
        install-ExchangeSchema -LdapFileName ($roleInstallPath + "Setup\Data\"+$RoleSchemaPrefix + "schema2.ldf")

    " was run: "There was an error while running 'ldifde.exe' to import the schema file 'C:\Windows\Temp\ExchangeSetup\Setup\Data\PostExchange2003_schema2.ldf'. The error code is: 8245. More details can be found in the error file: 'C:\Users\sa_itsn\AppData\Local\Temp\2\ldif.err'".

    The content of ldiff.err is:

    Entry DN: CN=ms-Exch-ELC-Folder-Link,CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=goversacc,DC=local
    Add error on entry starting on line 113: Unwilling To Perform

    The server side error is: 0x2114 Schema update failed: An attribute with the same link identifier already exists.

    The extended server error is:

    00002114: SvcErr: DSID-032603BC, problem 5003 (WILL_NOT_PERFORM), data 8468


    An error has occurred in the program

     

    The server will be installed in an existing domain with an exchange 2003 server (which will be replaced by this one).

  • Hi,

     

    I saw that article, but the error is not exactly the same; I have the error for CN=ms-Exch-ELC-Folder-Link and not for the CNs mentioned in the article.

    As far as I understand they just changed the linkid number to 11900 and 11901. Can I also do this for this object?

    I haven't run into this problem but I did find others resolved the same problem with this KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917682

    I suppose it should help you.
