Exchange UM - how to diagnose "Recent Failed Mailbox Connection Attempts" RRS feed

  • We have a two-node mailbox DAG stretched across our WAN (25ms latency).

    Beside each mailbox+CAS+HUB server is a UM server in the same site.  

    The UM server that is not in the same site as the active database always seems to report these connection failures, yet I never find any stuck messages in  C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\UnifiedMessaging\voicemail.    The event log doesn't report any errors (set to Expert level detail for UM).

    How can I troubleshoot this further?

    Alert: Mailbox connection failures % over the last 1 hour - Red (> 10)

    Probably you can use network monitor and create a network trace to see if you are able to see any network traffic issues
