Steady State for Windows Vista RRS feed

  • Question

  • The Vista version of SteadyState is very important to us.  We have 1500 computers that we plan to move to Vista once SteadyState is available.  A timeline of the release would be much appreciated as soon as possible.  During the Beta we were told within a month of the XP release.  Is this still true?

  • Hi,

We don’t have a RTM for Vista yet; however, we understand that Vista support is very important and we are working on the Vista release currently. When the plan comes out, we will let you know as soon as possible.

  • Steady State for Vista would be a very important tool for running my Vista labs.  Word over the summer from a MS Vista Specialist (actually, he called himself more of a generalist) was that Steady State would be release for Vista by the end of the year, around the same time SP1 should be out.  I sure hope so.

  • Hi,

Although the final edition of Windows SteadyState 2.5 hasn't been released, 2.5 Beta had been released on 11/16/2007. Have you tested it on your Vista computer?

  • Hi - Not related to the subject but as I can't seem to find how to start a separate thread, perhaps someone could give me a compass bearing!

Untill then, I have succesfully deployed WSS on 2 XP machines but my main machine which is Vista Home Premium does not like it.

It returns "Unexpected Errorr 0x80041001" each time I try to use it. Can't find any reference to this error anywhere so what have I got - anyone please help?
