problems with Lifecam NX-6000 and Skype RRS feed

  • Question

  • When using my NX-6000 camera with Skype on Vista SP1 I get a crackling in the audio whenever the camera is mounted on top of the laptop's monitor. I've tried this on other user's laptops with same repro.

    I'm using a Lenovo Thinkpad X61.

Is there a workaround for this issue?

  • Hello,

According to your problem description, the same issue existed on both yours and the other user's laptops; I suppose that the issue should be caused by the hardware device itself or the conflicts between hardware driver and your Skype software.

First, please confirm whether LifeCam NX-6000 camera could work properly with MSN Messenger. If so, you should focus your attention on the Skype software, you might contact with Skype for the further support.

Otherwise, download and install the latest driver for LifeCam (117M)

Refer to the following webpage to troubleshoot your issue.

    LifeCam Solution Center

However, if the issue still persists, it is recommended that you post the issue in Microsoft Hardware Products Discussions Group. They mainly focus on Microsoft Hardware Products question and problem.

The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is that you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the newsgroups regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us.

    Thank you for your understanding!
