Fill Chart Webpart with Data from CSV RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
I would like to use the the Chart WebPart with Excel Services on SharePoint 2010.
I get my Data from an CSV File which is generated in SAP and stored on a file share.
The chart should be updated every day automaticly.
What is the best way to generate the chart with the data from csv.
Is there a special service to solve the problem, or do I need to write custom code ?

    Thanks
    Stephan

  • Hi,

Here is a blog for your reference:

If you want to make the chart update automatically, we can create a custom list in SharePoint, then get data from the custom list in chart web part. Create a console application using visual studio, read the data from CSV file and add the data into custom list, we can create a job to execute console application every day automatically.

  • Hi Dennis,

I also think that's the best way. I will fill a sharepoint list with a sharepoint scheduler job running every night.

The data from the sharepoint list will be used by the chart.

    Thanks
    Stephan
