    he name of my WSUS server is [WSUS.domainname.com].  When I open the console locally on the server initially, it shows the short name of the server (WSUS).  This works great I can expand and look at computers, updates, reports, etc.  However, when I close the console and open it again it keeps the short name and adds another instance of the FQDN as well.  This keeps happening. 

    Thus, if I open/close the console 10 times I will see 10 "Servers Administered from This Console".  This doesn't happen if I connect remotely to the server.  My remote console just shows the FQDN being managed from the console.  Any idea what is going on?  I'm worried something isn't configured correctly on my server.  Thanks.

    If this issue is because you're using the FQDN, I'd say that your DNS Services are not properly configured.

    On a LOCAL console connecting to a LOCAL WSUS server, you should have to, nor should you ACTUALLY, use the FQDN, you should be able to connect with the SIMPLE hostname -- if DNS is properly configured.
