HP Storageworks MP upgrade RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

We are using SCOM 2007 SP1 in our environment, current we have "HP StorageWorks Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager 2007" version  1.5.2.0 now.

We are planning to import "HP StorageWorks Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager 2007" version 1.7.

We will first install the "HP StorageWorks WEBES Listener for MOM 2005 and SCOM 2007" in the webes listener server. Then import the management pack in SCOM.

In Hp site it is given like this in the new features of 1.7 management pack,

Auto import of the HP StorageWorks Management Pack into system center operations manager (SCOM). If an earlier version of the HP StorageWorks Management Pack is installed in SCOM, it is automatically upgraded to the newer version.

Does it mean that we no need to remove the previously imported (version  1.5.2.0 in my case) while importing this version 1.7?

I know that to remove a Management Pack there should not be any management pack that depend on it.

Kindly explain us how the "HP StorageWorks Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager 2007" version 1.7 Management Pack should be imported.

    Regards,

    Santhosh
