Client Deployment fails RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am running SCCM 2012 SP1, but my client installation is failing.  When I run ccmsetup.exe on a Windows 7 client, I receive errors in ccmsetup.log about the SSL State is invalid, Selecting HTTP for the client, and then error about the MP cannot be located, and then ccmsetup.exe fails.  I have a MP installed in my site, which is a stand alone primary site.  I have extended the AD Schema.  I am using PKI certificates, and have followed all of the instruction on Microsoft Technet for creating the PKI certificates, distributing them via group policy, and adding the certificate to IIS.  I have tried switching my MP to use http, but I still receive the same errors.  My installation was working, so I am not sure why it is not now.

    My ccmsetup.log is at http://squeezer.net/logs/ccmsetup.log

    Any ideas?

  • I think I have it working now, ccmsetup.exe is running without errors in ccmsetup.log.  I re-created my ConfigMgr Web Server Certificate for my IIS server at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682023.aspx, and reinstalled the DP and MP using the Site Server's account instead of an account that was a Domain Admin, and added the certificate to IIS's Default Web Site bindings for https.

  • Has client deployment worked before you changed to HTTPS or was HTTPS selected during setup ?

The link to your log files does not Work.

Have you configured boundaries and boundary Groups?

Have you granted the site server proper rigths to the System Management Container ?

  • My apologies.  I corrected the link.  Yes I have configured the boundaries and boundary groups.  The site server's computer name has full control of the systems management container.

  • My apologies, I have fixed the link.  HTTPS was working, setup was selected with HTTPS.  I used http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682023.aspx to set up the PKI infrastructure.  Each AD site (I have 3) is in a Boundary and a Boundary group.  Each Boundary has a server with a DP.  There is only one MP.  The computer I am running ccmsetup.exe on is in the same boundary as the MP.   The site system server that hosts the MP has its computer name with full control on the Systems Management Container.

  • Are you using HTTP or HTTPS mode now?
