Wireless Connection router RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello there,

I was hoping is somebody can help me out to connect my laptop with my router. The issue comes that I have to be next to the router for the network to be identified and being able to access Internet. I followed Windows help instructions to plug on/off the router but when I move further to the router I lose connection again.

It never happen before moving to uni  halls, in there I have to plug in a cable to have Internet. I am not quite sure it does has to do about not recognising my home network.

I read previous comments but I can not understand them, I have few knowledge of IT terminologies so if someone can explain them to me easily that would be great!

    Thanks

  • Hi,

The links provided by Rick will be helpful.

Besides, we can use ipconfig /all to show the network configuration of the computer.

    Please check the items below,

    • Make sure that the computer has been configured with a proper IP address.
    • Make sure that the default gateway is the IP address of the router.
    • Aslo, please make sure that the IP address of the DNS is right.

    Best Regards.
