  At first try compatibility mode with XP Service Pack 3. If it not working, try this topics...

  In Windows 7 Compatibility Center, Diablo 2 isn't compatible with Windows 7 currently. Even Diablo 2 isn't quite compatible with Windows Vista. As a workaround, you can try the following solutions:

  1. Try Windows 7 Compatibility Tips.

  2. Windows Vista and Diablo 2

  3.  Contact Technical Support for further assistance.

  I think you will find this very helpful, try this it should make diablo 2 expansion compatible with windows 7 LODPatch_113c.exe. It works on my laptop with diablo 2
