We are in the process of migrating from 2007 to 2012 R2 can we block boundary migration RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have built the new environment and created the source hierarchy which point at the 2007 server and a shared DP.

we were told as we are doing this in co-existance mode for testing not to migrate boundaries and use different site code.

the boundaries are being automatically migrated can we block this?

    cheers Mike

  • Don't worry too much about boundaries. Overlapping boundaries (boundary groups) for content location are supported. Overlappings for site assignments are not. So just don't define any site assignment boundary groups in CM12. They are not needed at all if there's just a standalone primary site though.

  • Delete the old boundaries if you don't want them. When you are running a migration job de-select the boundaries and they won't be migrated.
