Active Directory and Kerberos on Windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I would like to be able to add a single sign on feature to a C# Windows app that needs to authenticate REST web service communications with a server running on a Java-based application server.

The authentication needs to be done with Active Directory and Kerberos.

I'm currently not using Active Directory but would like to be able to do development with it.

****  Is there an easy way to set up or gain access to Active Directory for development purposes?

I'm using a Windows 10 Pro machine for development.  I thought that I would be able to set Active Directory up on this laptop.

I did try to download the Remote Server Administration Tools, but after installing it, it doesn't show as being available.  Trying to reinstall it says that it is already installed.

When I look at the Active Directory Administrative Center under Administrative Tools, it says:
"Your account or computer is not joined to any domain.  Join to a domain and try again."
