  • Can you open regedit or a command prompt?

Browse to c:\windows\regedit.exe and right click and choose Run As Administrator.

Browse to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe and make sure the default value is exefile.

Browse to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command and the default value is set to  "%1" %*.
