Unable to change default gateway.

    Question

  • We have a server running Win 7 Enterprise.  We have a software raid 1 (2 disks mirrored) running with the Intel Raid Matrix Storage Manager.  We have no issues building the raid, or with the raid in general.  Our issue is that the primary disk failed.  This is a simple solution of building a new disk.  Our issue comes up when we switch the secondary (mirrored) disk from Port 1 to Port 0.  The disk boots, and the Intel software allows you to add a new disk to the raid.  When we go in and change the IP address, it keeps reverting the default gateway to the previous gateway.

We also do not have access to the registry.  When we use the administrator account, and try to go to regedit.  We right click and say "run as administrator."  We are instantly told that we do not have permissions to access this file.

Has anyone seen this issue before?  Is there an easy fix, or am I back to building this system from an online backup?

    Thanks

    J
