    Exchange 2003 IMAP4 service hangs with error 1053. 

    Not much information. Any other errors in the eventlog?

    Can you please post the full error message - source, id...

    Did you disable any security software on the system? Which software is installed?

    Thanks for the reply. It turn out that we were having issues with our DNS server. Thing are back to normal.
