  • Hi,

Please make sure to turn on Windows Defender in Action Center and also check the Defender Service running in Services.msc.

If we cannot get this service run, please run following commands to repair related system files and services:

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    SFC /scannow

For further troubleshooting, please post back the detailed event logs under Event viewer, Applications and services, Microsoft-Windows-Windows Defender/Operational.

  • What anti-virus \ security software do you have? It sounds like that has not upgraded along with Windows. So remove any \ all anti-virus and security software and reboot, does that work ok with Windows built in Defender?

If that is ok you could then reinstall you anti-virus, make sure it is the latest version and is listed ok with Windows 10.
