  • Question

  • Question about DAG design. Would this be a supported by Microsoft design?

Client has two sites; Production and DR

Client has three mailbox server; Two in Production and one in the DR site

    Client has 4 mailbox databases

I have two mailbox servers in production site each hosting two mailbox databases. I have them in a DAG right now and they each host passive copies of the others databases.

The client wants to add the mailbox server from the DR site into the DAG and have that server host the four passive copies.

Can a member of the DAG only have passive copies for disaster recovery scenerios?

    thanks

    K

Yes it can and it is fully supported.

You should consider enabling DAC mode for the DAG in this configuration.
