  • Hello,

Better you create calculate column and change the date format however you will still allow to submit mm-dd-yyyy format.

To create calculate column see this thread:

If you really want that date format then change the regional settings from site settings page.

    1. 1.You can modify the view of the view in SharePoint Designer to format the date &time column . Change the formula to ddwrt:FormatDate(string(@Due Date),1033,7) .
    2. You can Modify the Regional Settings for the site.Change the Locale to other countries ,the date format will change automatically for all the existing data &time columns .

  • Then you need to create customize List Form and change Date Field control:

  • Since you have not mentioned the SP version so assuming you are on SP 2007. As Tarek said, create new custom column for your need so here is one codeplex solution available:

    http://customdatetimefield.codeplex.com/

Is there any problem with calculated column?
