MISSNG: MICROSOFT VIRTUAL HOSTED NETWORK ADAPTER RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have HP AB219TX with Windows 10 pre-installed on it . but in Device manager even though enabling 'show hidden devices' there is no 'Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter driver '

Because of this i am unable to share my device's internet to the others .

I tried 'netsh wlan start hostednetwork' command in command prompt

    but it says

"The hosted network couldn't be started.

The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation."

  • Hi,

Your Wireless card doesn't support Hosted Network. You need another one that support this feature.

  • Sir,

I agree with your answer and also I have same problem like I don't have support of hotsted network.

But when I installed windows 10, hotsted network started supporting to my laptop and after some time like 2 to 3 days it disabled also like before and it isn't supporting. But what is reason that it supported for 2 to 3 days and it isn't supporting now.

  • Hi,

I never had this problem and didn't check if this support is based on hardware or software.
Maybe your driver has been updated with Windows Update.

What is the result of this command:

    netsh wlan show driver
