Asked by:
Merging of Domains - ADC creation , Migrating users to new Domain

-
Hi All,
Request you all to help me in creating prerequisites for Merging the domains and Upgrading the servers.
1) Networking part is already done, We are able to ping each and every domain...etc
2) We have a domain India.com for Company India.
3) We have acquired 3 companies OKC.com , DFW.com and MCO.com , Now we have to make all the domains as India.com
4) OKC.com , DFW.com and MCO.com are on Server 2008
5) India.com is on Server 2012 r2 , We want all the servers as 2012 r2.
6) How to migrate all the users to India.com , Their are many applications that are hosted in these three domains. DFW.com has only 20 users rest 2 have more than 250 users.
7) what about the other resources such NetApp Storage boxes, Vcenter , Printers.?
8) We dont want to create parent child domain , All should be India.com only.
Please let me if any other information is required and what other factors should be considered for doing this project.

Hello,
As for the migration tooling, ADMT is probably the easiest choice for you: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=19188
As for the application considerations, each app and solution must be assessed separately. In most of the cases they can be reconfigured to use the new domain after you have moved the users there. You can also create special groups for these migrated users to restrict other users in that domain from accessing these apps.

Hi
First you should configure domain trust between source and target domain.
https://nideesh.wordpress.com/2012/10/17/how-to-install-vmware-esxi-server/
Then you can migrate AD resources with ADMT,
ADMT ; https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc974332(v=ws.10).aspx
you should migrate domains one-by-one...
For exchange ; https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/meamcs/2011/06/10/exchange-2010-cross-forest-migration-step-by-step-guide-part-i/
File server&shares with robocopy ; https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc733145(v=ws.11).aspx?f=255&mspperror=-2147217396
for printers you can also use ADMT ,or Windows server migration tools ;
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc722360.aspx
Then for 3.rd apps you should contact to vendors for migration scenario.
