Windows Update Causing Script Errors-Company Wide

    Question

  • New updates were just recently pushed out to our PC's company wide and one of the updates is preventing anyone from exporting documents from our MRP system with a /vbs scripting error.  I am not sure what update it is, but currently, I am having all users rollback their system to the restore point from last night.  Do you know which update it may be that is causing this, or if there is a fix on the way?

Any information on this would be very helpful...

    Thank you

  • Hi HollyF1974,

Since you perform System Restore and it works fine, you could check WindowsUpdate.log to see which updates you installed causing the problem. After checking, please tell us the KB number for the update.

In addition to that, since the updates affect your current MRP system, you could choose do not install this updates temporarily.

If you are using WSUS to push updates, you need to hide the updates in Windows Updates server.

Wish you have a nice day.

    Best Regards

    Simon

  • it's best u managed this on ur own. just apply the update 1 by 1 and test which is breaking the vbs

probably this hinting it's time to upgrade vbs to a proper console app, for future maintenance aspect.
