Please take the following steps:
1.Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Photo Viewer\Capabilities\FileAssociations.
2.Add the following registry keys(Please backup the registry keys before we made modifications to them):
".bmp"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".dib"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".gif"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".jfif"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".jpe"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".jpeg"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".jpg"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".jxr"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
".png"="PhotoViewer.FileAssoc.Tiff"
3.Navigate to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set your default programs\Windows Photo Viewer\Choose defaults for this program, tick all the optionsBest regards

A couple of links to enable Photo Viewer in Windows 10. I have not used either so cannot personally comment on them but have a look and see what you think.

I used this tutorial to restore Photo Viewer in my computer until I installed Windows Essentials which I switched to Windows Photo Gallery.
The tutorial is simpler than ABC.
