CQWP + Fantastic 40 Templates = 1 Case of Beer with a huge headache RRS feed

  • Question

  • I trying so hard to use the "content query web part" with the project tasks that come with fantatic 40 and can't get it to work.  I've read a bunch of blogs on how to customize the web part by exporting... making some changes (that's what I don't understand yet to pull in the right data), then import it back...  but for the life of me I can't figure out how to customize to pull out the project tasks.  I spent all night researching and trying to find the answer to this.

Any help would be appreciated.. if not I'll just go drink a case of beer and research some more :(

  • One of the best blog articles on this topic is located here:

Essentially you need to add any custom columns and then re-import. I haven't done this with the project tasks template so I'm not sure the exact syntax but make sure you read the part where Heather talks about getting the actual server name for the column.

Also check out the Enhanced Content By Query web part... it makes doing this a lot quicker (since you dont have to export, edit, and re-import just to get custom columns):
