Protecting DPM Databases RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have to DPM2010 servers and each protects the other's DPM database. When I pull the Status reort from DPM2 (which is protecting DPM1) it tells me:

Protection Status: Is not being protected

DPM1 shows me that there is a very old copy of the DPM database but that coincides with the day it was taken to tape.

At both ends there are restore points etc and all looks fine. Is that that report is flawed and it only records tape backups, or are we missing the point somehow?

We are protecting DPMDB, & ReportServer$MSDPM.

    Thanks in advance.....

  • Hi,

I think it is a flaw in the reports, it's probably looking for local protection only.  As long as the backups are working, I would not worry about the report.
