Modern Calculator missing after Fall Creators Update RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have approx. 3000 PCs at my site. It seems like any PCs we have built or upgraded to Windows 10 Fall Creators Update are missing the modern Calculator app.  Users are prompted to install it from the app store, which we have locked out.  Our solution has been to temporarily grant the user local admin rights and then repair/restore the calculator with a Powershell script.  Has anyone else seen this problem?   Any other solutions that can be mass deployed without requiring local admin rights?

  • How did these systems get deployed? Thinking something in the build process is uninstalling the modern calculator as it is present on standard Windows 10 systems.

  • In PowerShell this command will fix the issue:

    Get-AppxPackage -allusers *windowscalculator* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
