Unable to access the OWA for the mailboxes what has been moved from Source to DR RRS feed

  • Question

  • After SCR move in exchange 2007 unable to access the OWA for the mailboxes what has been moved from Source to DR.

When trying getting the below error. Second Does we need to configure AutoDiscovery manually , will it not be configured automatically.

Outlook Web Access is not available, If the problem continues contact teachnical support.
There is no Microsoft Exchange Client Access server that has the necessary configuration in the active Directory where the mail is stored.

  • Hi Jugalkumar ,

For your owa issue already i have given some explanations on the below mentioned thread .

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/3a4c189b-740a-4cf5-bedb-c1278771e1e4/cas-server-issue-scr-setup?forum=exchangesvrgenerallegacy

After DR failover ,For you outlook clients to configure automatically you need to have the autodiscover url configured properly on the CAS server which is at DR site .

    Set-ClientAccessServer –Identity <DR site CAS server> -AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri "https:\\autodiscover.domain.com\autodiscover\autodiscover.xml"

Make sure that the namespace used on the autodiscover service is available on the SAN certificate and also it is resolvable to the CAS server which is at the DR site .

    Thanks & Regards S.Nithyanandham

  • Hi,

Since OWA do not use Autodiscover service to connect to Exchange server, please check the configuration for OWA VD: Get-OWAVirtualDirectory | FL Identity,*URL*,*Auth*
Also, try logon OWA in DR CAS server with URL: https://localhost/owa to check.

For Outlook client issue, please repair or reconfigure outlook profile for testing.
If it works, check the vaule of RPCClientAccessServer for each database: Get-MailboxDatabase | FL Identity,*RPC*, this value should be CAS server in DR site.

    Thanks

  • Hello Allen and S.Nithyanandham,

When i tried to logon OWA in DR CAS server with URL: https://localhost/owa to check for the database and for test user resides that database , i was able to login.

But When i tried using the https://webmail.domain.com/owa it was giving me an error so i got to know what S.Nithyanandham, mentioned that this needs to be change at the firewall and changed it to the DR CAS server IP address.

But just wanted to know what if i entered the same URL what is listed in the internal URL into the external URL as well. Is the the way to get the things working for the users who has been moved to another site during the database portability.

I have Two user in one database on which i performed database portability and now how those both user test the OWA connectivity , via https://localhost/owa only , or is there any another way also ?

    For outlook

I reconfigured the outlook profilr and it worked but in exchange 2007 there is no attribute called RPCClientAccessServer , is there any another way to check .?
