Many softwares stop responding as soon as i open them in windows 7 RRS feed

  • Many microsoft softwares and others stop responding as soon as they open. IE, help and support, Download accelerator, are some of the many affected. Am using Google chrome now as it is not affected.. It happens every time. I cant use the help and support....as soon as i open it a popup appears saying windows is looking for a solution and then it says its not working and it closes the programme... am sick and tired of it...plz help....i have an hp pavilion dv6 and the windows 7 home premium 64 bit came with it...

    The issue can be caused by third party software confliction. I suggest first performing a Clean Boot to check the result.

    Does any program such as help and support work in Clean Boot? If so, please use the narrow down steps to find the root cause.

     

    In addition, you can refer to the following KB to troubleshoot IE issues:

    If the Internet Explorer cannot be open, please click start -> type inetcpl.cpl to access the Internet Properties window.

  • I recommand to your to perform a repair install of your Windows 7 operating system.

    This article should help.

    Once done, install all Microsoft updates for Windows 7.

  • There is no need for a repair install as he said below, just 'disk cleanup and defragment your computer as well as use compatibility mode for softwares which stop responding.
