Event logs not generating for FRS or DFS replication in windows 2012 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have promoted windows 2012 R2 ADC .... in this DC event logs in event viewer for - File replication service or DFS replication showing empty means no log present....

can anyone please help me why its showing empty or its default nature of windows 2012 r2....

my one observation is when i restarted both services - FRS or DFSR... then logs generating in event viewer but logs not generating automatically....

Where i can see these logs or any settings to display these logs in event viewer.....

  • Do you have another domain controller present?  Replication service needs something do or else it won't generate much in the way of logs.

  • yes we have more than 100 DCs ; approx 80%  DCs on windows 2003 & 20% DCs on Windows 20012 R2. Even replication working fine on all DCs no issue in replication still no logs in FRS & DFS replication......

  • It may sound silly asking this, but do you have an Event Viewer filter in place over said logs?
