okay, so I downloaded Mass Effect from Steam and the game won't play. it says that the global shader cannot compile. i have DirectX 11 and Windows 7 x64-Bit w/ Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset and Intel Core 2 Duo processor. any suggestions?

A semi-random suggestion:
Install the DirectX update:
The Runtime is the web-based installation, and the redist (redistributable) is the full download (more than 90MB).
The version of DirectX installed with Windows 7 does not include all of the older components that some games need.

Hi,
Based on my research, Mass Effect is compatible with Windows 7. You need to install the latest DirectX and the latest Graphic driver. Right click the Mass Effect and run as Administrator, most of this error occurs because of insufficient privileges.
BTW, please contact Mass Effect for support as well.
