Change an Excel SSAS Connection to a Different Cube

Question
-
Hi,
I have some excel files with some pivots that i built on my tabular cube on server X.
Now i have a different cube with the same name and structure under a new sever Y.
I created the new connection in excel and i want to easily open the excel files and switch between the connections so that the pivots in the files will retrieve information from the cube on server Y.
can i do this without editing the original connection to the cube on server X? I still want to use the original connection for other files that should keep pointing to the cube on server X.
Thanks!

Hi Udianco,
Thanks for your question.
According to your description, you can add another Pivot Table and build another connection to server Y in the same workbook.
If you want to show it in the same Pivot Table, you would have to edit the original connection string.

Hi Willson,
Thanks for your response.
This is not exactly what i asked.
I have both connections defined in my "Existing Connections" in excel and i have a pivot table that is pointing to the connection to the cube on server X. Now i want the same pivot table to point to the connection to the cube on server Y (without editing the connection to server X).
Can i simply switch between one connection to another?
***Cubes on server X and Y have the same name and structure.
Thanks!

Hi Udianco,
Thanks for your response. As i said in my last reply, If you want to show it in the same Pivot Table, you would have to edit the original connection string.
It is impossible to simply switch between one connection to another, you would have to edit the original connection string. Because one Pivote Table can only have one connection.
