Cleaning up image after capture RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it possible to Cleanup an image once it is captured? I have a WIM image and would like to run:

    DISM.exe /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

    I have tried this:

    PS D:\MDTBuildLab\Captures> DISM.exe /Image:D\MDTBUildLab\Captures\REFW10-X64-001.wim /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentClea
    nup

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
    Version: 6.3.9600.17031

    Error: 3

    Unable to access the image.
Make sure that the image path and the Windows directory for the image exist and you have Read permissions on the folder.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log

  • Hi

You don't point at the .wim file - you need to:

    1) Dism /Mount-Image /ImageFile:D:\MDTBuildLab\Captures\REFW10-X64-001.wim /index:1 /MountDir:D:\test\offline

    2) DISM.exe /Image:D:\test\offline /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

    3) Dism /Unmount-Image /MountDir:C:\test\offline /commit

    Kind regards
