Change data source for a saved Proclarity view RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have several views saved in ProClarity under My Views.  The data source has changed for these views and I really don't want to throw all of this work away, just because the underlying SSAS server now has a different name.  How do I re-point my saved views to the new SSAS instance and cube name?

  • Hi!,

You should use Menu "Tools"-->"Change connection Information"

  • go to the Help menu and check out the 'Missing Data Wizard'... i think this may help you out tremendously.

  • Neither one work.  Tools | Change Connection Information only works on a view that is already open.  Missing Data Wizard does not apply, there isn't any missing data, the cube and database have been renamed and the SSAS server is also different.

I have a view that was saved that is connecting to a database name of MyCube1 with a cube named Performance on SSAS server named SSAS01.  This was renamed to MyCube2 with a cube name of Sales Performance on SSAS02.  The view is now 100% inaccessible.  I can't open the view, because it says the database could not be found.  Since I can't even open the view, I can't change any information in the view.
